Aubrey Beardsley is a master of ink illustration. An art form which can sometimes be deceptively simple, is one of my favorites. Ink illustration at its finest requires purity of line and minute attention to detail. I am also attracted by it’s unique portrayal of form and textures.
Beardsley was the most controversial artist of the Art Nouveau era, renowned for his dark and perverse images and grotesque erotica, which were the main themes of his later work.
